Coprophagia (poop/feces eating) (Sent to me via email.....Author unknown) "Poop eating" is a common complaint from many new dog owners. There are several theories as to why dogs will eat feces ranging from:
As disgusting as it is to us humans, it really is more common than we imagine. Remedies range from adding B vitamins to the diet, using Accent sprinkled on the dog's food, and using products such as "Forbid" which are available in pet supply catalogs and stores. What works for one dog may or may not work for another. In short, the only sure-fire way to prevent this is by picking up after your dog as quickly as possible and disposing of the "tasty tidbit."
